Three Voices Presbyterian Church's History
Throughout the years, Cochran Memorial, Mt. Vernon and Verona First Presbyterian Churches have been connected in various ways through families, Pastors and a close proximity to each other’s communities. Many of our church family members have attended one or more of the Three Voices congregations over the years and served those congregations and communities in various capacities. We have been bonded by families - siblings ... daughters .... sons...cousins...friends We truly have been and remain connected as the Body of Christ.
In the last few decades Pastors have been shared between two or all the three churches and there were special times of worshiping together until, in 2012, we began worshiping together as one family in Christ with one service each Sunday, except for Easter and Christmas Eve. In 2015 we had a joint Easter service together as well. In 2016 the Vernon members of the Three Voices took a step of faith in generosity by gifting their building to a new and growing church family, who now are conducting services there.
Our journey has seen many changes in our communities and world, but one thing remains constant; our love for God and serving our fellow human beings.
Three Voices, One Family...Serving God Together is our vision and it is our guide. And from that vision we commit to this mission - To faithfully love and serve our communities as Jesus serves us, by being there for others through:
• Worship, Music and Prayer
• Outreach and Missions
• Community Events
In all that we do, we endeavor to glorify God, follow Jesus and be open to the Holy Spirit. In this way we serve each other in love, reach out to all of humanity in mission and understanding with open hearts and arms.
